Social Studies
The eighth grade will focus on United States and Massachusetts Civics and Government. This year will be a little different than previous years; instead of typical chapter exams, students will have a variety of assessments, including Topic-Based quizzes and Written (or Essay) Assessments. Students will be expected to complete a current events project every 3 weeks, in addition to their regular social studies work.
Grading: Materials:
Classwork/Homework*: 35% 3-Ring Binder and Dividers
Tests/Quizzes/Written Assessments**: 25% Loose Leaf Paper
Current Events: 20%
Participation: 20%
